About MBS in Person

The SVSD Parent Partnership Program, now called the Meadowbrook School, is an Alternative Learning Experience (ALE) program that offers two options for students. Students may opt for our “in-person” model where students attend two days per week or a fully online model where students work on classes using an online platform. We started in 2012 with a handful of students and have grown to 200 students (120 in-person) and eight certified teachers across K-12. In 2023, we even launched our own Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO)!

The Meadowbrook School In-Person program is a unique K-12 school within SVSD that combines the flexibility of parent-led instruction with the structure and support of public school.  P3 students experience a combination of core classes taught by district teachers which complement classes at home directed by parents. Students attend two days each week.

Student learning plans, focused on individual needs, are created collaboratively by the certificated teacher and family. By focusing on each child’s progress, the learning plans detail a unique learning roadmap for the school year. Parents ensure students spend 27.75 hours per week doing learning activities that reflect subjects (“classes”) outlined in their Written Student Learning Plan. This includes both time in the classroom and at home, using structured curriculum and informal learning activities. Parents are responsible for regular communication with teachers, including submitting monthly progress reports.

At MBS, families can find resources and a learning community to support their individual school journey. From curriculum materials and guidance to engaging classes for students in grades K-10, MBS offers families a partnership in their student’s education.

About Our District

Snoqualmie Valley District Office building

The Snoqualmie Valley School District (SVSD) is located 30 miles east of Seattle in the beautiful Cascade Mountain foothills of Washington State. The district spans more than 400 square miles and serves families in Fall City, North Bend, Snoqualmie, and surrounding unincorporated areas in King County.  We offer quality public education to approximately 7,200 students in 11 schools — six elementary schools (grades P-5), three middle schools (6-8), one comprehensive high school (9-12), and a Big Picture high school (9-12).

Alternative learning options offered by our district include Mount Si High School’s Online Courses (9-12), our Parent Partnership Program for families who choose to school their students (K-10) at home, a Transition Learning Center for special education services for ages 18-21, and a 100% Online Learning Program (K-12).

Since 2019, our students have enjoyed the newly-constructed and expanded Mount Si High School campus, which features a state-of-the-art Performing Arts Center. Our district’s One-to-One Computing Initiative equips every student in grades 6-12 with a laptop computer for use at school and home. Thanks to our supportive community that values education, Snoqualmie Valley schools rank among the best in Washington State with a 98% four-year graduation rate.  Learn more from the latest OSPI Snoqualmie Valley School District Report Card.
