Secondary Model
The Meadowbrook Partnership
Snoqualmie Valley School District’s Meadowbrook School (MBS) offers a unique partnership that bridges the gap between school and home. Designed to complement parent-led instruction, our program provides families with a robust learning community and essential resources, including district-supported curriculum and expert guidance. Central to this partnership is the Student Learning Plan—a collaborative roadmap created by families and certificated teachers to address each student's individual needs and track their progress through grade-level content.
Secondary School Day
The Meadowbrook Secondary program serves students in grades 6 through 10, with classes meeting Mondays and Wednesdays from 8:15 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. Our small class sizes, typically fewer than 20 students, allow for personalized instruction across six total courses. This includes four core classes in English Language Arts, History, Math, and Science, alongside two elective options. While elective offerings evolve annually, they frequently include subjects such as Leadership, Yearbook, Art, PE, and specialized sciences like Astronomy or Marine Science. Teachers assign coursework to be completed at home with parental support to ensure students stay on track with grade level content.
Located in the portables behind Snoqualmie Middle School, the secondary program features a 30-minute lunch period where students may purchase meals through the middle school. Please note that families are responsible for student transportation, as district busing is not provided for the secondary schedule. To monitor academic growth and meet state requirements, all students participate in district and state assessments, including the Smarter Balanced Assessment and the Washington Comprehensive Assessment of Science.
To ensure our students have everything they need to thrive, Meadowbrook School partners with a dedicated team of district and community professionals. Secondary students have access to a school-based counselor through Friends of Youth, the Snoqualmie Middle School nurse, and a district social worker.
For students requiring specially designed instruction (SDI) and support services, families partner with our MBS special education teacher to coordinate and schedule necessary interventions. Furthermore, our teachers are committed to inclusivity, implementing all accommodations and modifications as specified in each student's Individualized Education Program (IEP).

Secondary leadership students put in a fantastic effort to plan and host an unforgettable Bingo Night for our Meadowbrook families.

-8th Grade Student
"The flexibility here is incredible because my daughter can speed up in subjects she’s mastered and take extra time on the ones that are more challenging. The teachers go above and beyond to help our family succeed at home too!"
-Secondary Parent
I like working at my own pace at home while still being part of a real school with my friends."
